Once Upon a Spine is a true cozy mystery. From the reoccurring fun characters to the 'who done it' murderous story line this continuation in the Bibliophile Mystery series is yet another page turner. Brooklyn's narration of the book industry and, in this installment, actual paper making is a great addition to the unfolding of the crime. Unlike other cozy mysteries, this one is well thought out and brings in so many interesting characters it is a gratifying, read in one sitting kind of mystery. I've read several of Carlisle's books and I always look forward to curling up with the next mystery. Her stories are like extended versions of murder mystery shows and with Derek Stone, British murder mysteries! After reading Once upon a spine it was fun to read the addition of the recipes. Reading about The Courtyard really made me want to visit, have a piece of pie and shop for a hat. Great comforting read! (less)
