Love Hacked- I love this series! Another hit! I love how each book tells a different couple's love story.
Pages of Sin- I love Carlisle cozy mysteries but this one lacked something for me. Afterward, I saw that it is a #4.5 so just a mini story so that might be why it felt like it was just getting started. Looking forward to the reading the next one in the series and her Fixer Upper series.
This Old Homicide- I started this series in the middle as one of Carlisle's early readers so I've gone back to the beginning to catch up. I really like this series and I actually like that my introduction was watching Framed for Murder on Hallmark movies and mysteries. Since then I have read #1 High-End Finish and #5 Eaves of Destruction and watched Concrete Evidence and Deadly Deed. This Old Homicide continues with the strong storyline and likable, and unlikable, characters.
Still Life- Louise Penny has been recommended to me so many times. Now I know why. Exactly my style. Mystery out in the countryside, enduring inspector, perplexing townspeople... read it.
Girls of August- Good summer/beach read. A group of forever girlfriends, some betrayal, some new friends, some hardships- this may be formulaic but it is comforting and reassuring.
High End Finish- After reading Carlisle's Bibliophile cozy series I read some of the Fixer-Upper series and decided to go back to the beginning. I love this series just as much. I enjoyed being introduced to it through Hallmark Movies and Mysteries and then through Kate's Readers, an early reviewer group. Highly recommend either series.
Shot in the Bark- I love the local touch points in this series and the cozy mystery aspect. Super enjoyable read. I liked going back to the beginning and hearing the beginning of the characters but was a bit thrown off because of what I know is coming in subsequent books!
None of these will be added to the high school library though- not the right audience.
