Recommended to me by a student who hadn't found 'the right' book until this one came along. It's a good dystopian read that, of course, is a trilogy. Society has decided kids are criminally out of control and the guilty and the framed innocent are thrown into Furnace.

Finished a few books this week: Make Good Art, Off the Beaten Page and The Anatomist's Wife. All good reads! I especially loved The Anatomist's Wife. A Sherlock Holmes type mystery with a female sleuth. I wasn't in a rush to read this mystery because I enjoyed just sitting and reading through it.
I was hoping we could put this one in the library but this is better suited for personal purchase or public library purchase. The television series is more tame than the comic book series. Viewers of the show will be surprised in the difference in characters and events.
A student recommended this book to me and has asked me everyday what part I'm on. Luckily I love it as much as he did. Harbor picked it up as I was reading it so I had to share. It will be liked by those who enjoyed Wimpy Kid when they were in middle school. More mature language and situations but high school appropriate. Great moral story.

Mrs. lovinI started teaching English and Spanish at Blancester in 1996. After getting my masters in Library Science, I moved into the library and I've enjoyed connecting people to books ever since! Archives
