Along with our usual favorite Lighthouse Cove characters like Shannon, her dad and uncle, Mac, Wade, and Eric we are introduced to some new characters. Bree the producer, her husband, and star of the show, Blake, Diego the lead carpenter and several others move into town to film the show. Shannon and some of her friends Emily, Jane, Lizzie, and Gus get in on all the Hollywood action. Even Robbie and Tiger get in on the action guarding the house. It is also great to see the sisterly relationship between Shannon and Chloe.
Settling into the series, Carlisle doesn’t rush the murders in this one. That’s the great thing about series. We learn where Shannon’s love for gardening originated and why Chloe left town ten years ago. We see Shannon’s red-headed attitude continue to get her into trouble. We hear about Niall, Emily’s brother arriving in town but we don’t actually meet him. I’m guessing we’ll meet him officially in the next book?
Carlisle has already shown us how Shannon’s community and friends support her and care for her. This installment allows us to see how fiercely Shannon supports her family. It is cozy and comforting. Whitney even stoops to a new low. Shocking. And as soon as we meet her cousin Richie we all can relate. We all know a Richie.
This is a great series to pair up with Hallmark Movies and Mysteries channel because Hallmark movies and Carlisle like to set up a story with a great group of friends, a beautiful setting, add in interesting characters who just happen to fall in love, and solve all the murders in a few hours of film or pages.
